Dating With Friends

21 Jan

I met one guy last year as a direct result of a dating site. On the phone we talked about theatre and iPhones.  We seemed to hit it off.  We met at a cafe somewhere in Merrifield, Virginia after the one he suggested ended up being closed. It was a decent lunch date. We had a really good conversation.

Later we scheduled a second date. It got cancelled twice (once because of his work and again because what he wanted to do was logistically impossible) before his vacation in L.A. The next communication I received from him when he returned from L.A. was asking me to play him in Words With Friends. We continued to play for months until I asked myself why I was wasting time playing this game with this person whose contact information I had already deleted.

I actually laughed out loud when I saw that a couple who met on Words With Friends actually got married. I guess anything can happen.  Heck, Words With Friends could help save your life.

Hey Kenya. Good story. I guess you can refer to this guy as a casual friend. As long as you like playing W.W.F. then it’s good. However, one day he might realize that he should’ve tried harder to get to know you better.

I no longer play with him. I think the whole situation is weird.
