I actually had all my photos copyrighted on flickr for NO ONE to use but I am giving them permission on that one photo. That tells you that they do not READ your requests. I order from snapfish from time to time but then I always pay for all these photos ahead of time so they never really bother me to much. So, guess that is the fee that I pay.

I have not used any other service but it all makes me think that I need to just burn my pictures to a DVD or CD so that I will not have to worry about what may happen to my photos! I have them all copied in my external hard drive too!

I have used Snapfish since 1999 or 2000. I like it but when I had not ordered pics from them in a while, they threatened to delete all my pics so it's not really free. I still use it though for photos I'm actually ordering (for now). I used to use Webshots for sharing but Flickr is the best at sharing. I have lots of private photos on there as well. I'm cutting back on what I load into Flickr and starting to watermark my pictures as well. I think I've been on Flickr since 2004.

On Flickr, I used a Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial No Derivative License. Schmap is asking permission to use photos a different way but there are others who don't care at all even if you have issued no license whatsoever.

It is probably best in some instances on Flickr to make your photos private if you do not want companies looking at some personal pictures you want to share, but then you do not want them being taken from you. I actually have a lot of photos on snapfish.com. The appeal of snapfish is that the album is private, and I can pick and choose who I want to share photos with.

Further, you do not have to pay a yearly fee. It is unlimited photos galore. I started using snapfish in 2002 and I just started using flickr this year.

Thanks for sharing your story!
